I’d play Ninja Gaiden even now.
It’s really a masterpiece.
NG II was good too, but didn’t quite have the sense of polish and inspiration.

Aww, this podcats was actually pretty interesting. I learned a lot about some games that I’ve read about, but never played.
I liked how you described the disappointing aspects of Super Mario Sunshine. I think you hit the nail right on the head.
I also loved Jak & Daxter 1, and I think it’s tragic that Naughty Dog saw fit to screw with its formula for the sequel. My only complaint about it is that you can’t skip its cutscenes.

I found it interesting that while we’re all avid gamers, I spent most of the 90′s and early 2000′s playing computer games rather than consoles.
It took me a while but I’ve gotten tired of bug testing video card drivers and constantly refreshing Tomshardware.com to find what video card gives you the biggest bang for the buck.
Despite the high price for console games I think you end up spending less for the console gaming experience.

Glad to see I haven’t bored you all.
Throughout the period covered by the podcats- 2001 to 2006, I actually played more PC games than I had ever before, buying a new PC in 2003 that i subsequently spent a large sum on video card upgrades and an LCD monitor to do better at Call of Duty. But I played A LOT of games on PS2 and XBox during this same period.
Ok- so next time there’s a choice between no podcats and one of me talking about my collection, I record a sequel.

I seem to recall playing only one game in 2000(ish): Tribes.
My god, there was(is?) no better multi-player experience.
Especially with the Shifter mod. Who needed Live?
One of my fondest PC memories is MDK, I had a hell of a lot of fun with that. Especially when I got a 3d card and I could enjoy a reflective surface on one entire level!
Bored us all? There’s no better game than the one you played 5 or 10 years ago!
