The Podcats: The Pinnies
AKA Pinball. The original arcade machine that never really made the transition to home systems.
Apart from Peggle. Ignore that. But apart from Peggle, Pinball has never really made the transition to home systems. Balls of Steel? Shut up!

Check out Guitar George; he knows all the chords.
No, I don’t care if you’ve heard that one already.
I enjoy real pinball. The Addams Family table was one of my favorites. Video game pinball, however, can be outta sight. I still play Devil’s Crush on the Wii Virtual Console now and again. There was a remake of Alien Crush, but I don’t think the balls-out craziness of Devil’s Crush can be recaptured.

I’ve played the odd pinball game. They aren’t nearly as much fun as a decent videogame and I have to say I don’t miss them.
I realize both pinball games and arcade games are designed in such a way as to kill you after about 5 minutes of play, but there’s something so heavy handed about the way that steel ball always seems to slip through a corridor untouched by paddles that it’s offensive.
I had the pinball construction set for the Atari 800.. I had forgotten that you could generate your own games… is there anything like that out there today?
The IW gossip was fun, I haven’t been following that at all. The game industry seems really freaking dirty: from the sweatshop-style studios to the sleazy publishers to the CliffyBs…. I’m glad I’m not in it.
