Battlefront I and II for the XBox. There’s something about that theme being played in the background that just totally immerses me in the action. Damn, when it is it coming out for the 360?
Padding:
Bards Tale dungeons with invisible walls and teleport traps!
Bayonetta and Devil May Cry 4: In the former you tromp past reused set pieces in different dimensions. In the latter you tromp back over the same map twice with a new character the second time.
Yeesh, there are people complaining that Uncharted 2 was too short? I thought it was too long! There were quite a few sequences that could have been shortened or removed without sacrificing anything significant. How about that stupid village scene, where you do nothing but make Drake walk from one house to another? Pointless! These games need editors.
I’ve noticed that long games are very hard for me to touch again after I’ve beaten them. A long time ago, back in the Playstation 1 era, I remember finishing Final Fantasy Tactics after logging seventy hours with it. I enjoyed myself, and considered replaying it, but the prospect of sinking all that time into it again paralyzed me.
Oh, and you’re right, George: Demon’s Souls’s (lotta apostrophes there) length comes from its difficulty, not so much that there’s tons to do or see. The levels really aren’t large, so much as they are dense. It’s kind of like the old Castlevania or Ninja Gaiden games for the NES. Short levels, but tough as hell.

B and DMC were still a helluva lot of fun tho.

I’m umming and erring over buying Heavy Rain for the same reason. I don’t know whether I will like it enough for the money it will cost
