Aw, poor Clint, he’s been sent to the “naughty step”. If only Chamberlain had done that to Hitler in 1939! For a start Clint’s obvious addiction to the history channel might not be as bad.
The problem with a non-respawning Metroid is that it is so reliant on exploring you would have hours of backtracking through empty rooms which would be as boring as hell. Storywise I suppose that you could get away with it by saying that the animals and space pirates will wander around, sort of, ish.
But I will say that I’m replaying through the Prime series again in the new trilogy pack so I’m probably counted as a fan.

Explore-em-up! I love it! If your game can’t be described with “-em-up” at the end, it ain’t worth playing!

Also, I think it’s terribly unjust that the actors and artists who made the amazing Apocalypto possible were denied greater fame and appreciation because of the drunken antics of their dumbass director (allegedly).

Someone was bound to mention this eventually…bit of controversy over this one, due to the involvement of one Orson Scott Card, one of my fave sci-fi writers; right up to the point where I learned he’s a poofta-bashing rightwing nutbar:

(sorry for the poofta, trying to be australia-centric, n’ all that). Likin’ the show, boyeeez. Keep it up!

its written “poofter.” It’s hard to work out a stand on this. I love the game, only know vaguely of OSC and am aware after the fact that his stance on Gay Marriage is different from mine (well, I have no stance, really other than ‘why not? It’s none of my business what two people do in a pink registry office.’

Should I not play online games because of the homophobic and racist remarks you often hear? Should I stop with my plans to cement that noisy neighbour into my wall cavity?
It’s all too hard and has no bearing on a fun game.

Re: OSC I’m not so certain.

It’s not like he’s some guy in the QA dept who happens to be a mormon, or some random easily-mutable dudebro playing COD. He’s a big celebrity (well, kind of) and one of the big figureheads behind the game. And at issue aren’t just his religious beliefs, the man is active politically in the battle against gay marriage: he sits on the board of the National Organization for Marriage.

I don’t have a lot of time for gaming at the moment, but even if I did I think I’d give it a pass.

  6. George George Says:

as I said, I have little idea of who he is other than some people hate him and some people say he’s a good author. Let me just say I know some people who develop games- not all of them are sharing caring and full of ideals. Some of them are right twats.
