Controller1.com Focus Test 40-Played out?

Another recording mishap, this time we had time to try and run through our topic again. Anyhow, it’s 12 minutes of pure gold. Maybe not that store-bought gold I’ve been hearing so much about, but some cheap mail order gold from Russia. What’s played out these days?

I think part of the developers love of zombies isn’t just the ease of AI, it’s the lack of problems you get from having them as an enemy,(well short of a few total nutjobs complaining about RE5).
They are the easy choice, there aren’t any Zombie advocacy groups that will get pissed off if you include zombies in your game. Although it maybe fun to start one, with Zombie Mylo as the spokeszombie obviously,”What do we want? BRrrrrrrrrrraiiiiiins,When do we want them?BRrrrrrraaaaaaaainnnsss!”.

I can get behind the whole Braaaains movement. I can’t get behind the decomposing and letting your limbs lay where they fall off. If Zombies really want us to take them seriously- they need to clean up after themselves.

    What?

Yeah, fuck zombies, and fuck vampires while we’re at it! I’m so fucking sick of vampires! We need new horror monsters with freaky biology and rules for killing. That doesn’t have much to do with video games, but I thought it was worth mentioning here.

I also wholeheartedly agree that plastic musical instrument games are played out, and that they should be interred in the genre graveyard where platformers, RTS games, space shmups, fighting games, and World War II games are buried. It’s true that these games will never REALLY go away, because there are always some obsessive folks who cling to them like they have the panacea in them.

I find the World War II hoopla to be especially sad because it proves that there is only one point in all of human history when a war appeared mostly noble and heroic. I doubt that we’ll ever see Abu Ghraib The Game, or Afghan Poppy Field Tycoon.

Screw you man, your just anti-zombie.
Losing arms and legs is perfectly natural, just because it’s something you don’t engage in and want rammed down your throat, there’s nothing wrong with it. OH I’m sure that you’re all, yeah I have friends who are zombies when you’re out with people, but you’re on Xbox live at nights telling people “That’s so Zombie!” whenever you get killed in Left 4 Dead!
This is why we have Zombie pride marches and our own place where the zombie gamers can enjoy the company of other festering, brain eating, shambling wrecks Gamespot! ;-)

  5. George George Says:

Brain-hungry Zombies attacking the Gamespot offices would die of starvation

  6. Adam (Manniefold) Says:

No, they wouldn’t die of starvation. They’re already dead, can’t die again… they would however be promoted to upper management.

  7. Adam (Manniefold) Says:

BTW, if you’d like to save on bandwith, if/when I’m back in Brissy next and your recording another episode, I’d love to come sit in and listen… all in the interests of saving your bandwith of course, lol!

  8. Ted Rex Says:

Hey I like the bandwidth saving AG on tour idea. Of course the saving may not be so great as I’m English.
It would be nice to see a touring Australian team who could possibly win something! ;-Þ

  9. George George Says:

you guys! Bandwidth not a prob- we’ve got ooooodles of it.
