The original had better buttons, but I love the simple, elegant design, the rechargeable battery, and the LIT SCREEN, oooohhhh, of the SP. The first one, a standard old black one was modified to as a media player, region free gaming, etc. The second was bought to played on live- a lovely crystal clear one that still serves as a DVD player occasionally.
