I fookin’ LOVE the play control in Mirror’s Edge. It’s obvious that DICE spent a lot of time tweaking Faith’s physics until they felt just right. I’d love to see a game like this set in a more organic setting, like a rocky beach, or a cliffside, or even a traffic jam, with short sedans and tall semitrucks crowding my path.
I’m in the “against” crowd when it comes to the cutscenes, though. They look like old Liquid Television shorts. The story is also pretty boring and the “attitude” of it is grating. I can’t believe EA tried to sell it by saying it was written by Terry Pratchett’s daughter. I hate to break it to them, but talent is not genetic.
